Juvenile crime is when a minor (18 or younger) has committed a delinquent act that violates the law.
Juvenile delinquents will be dealt with based on the crime and the severity. Minors may be arrested, held for parent pickup or referred to juvenile court. A minor has more of a likelihood of going to court based on:
- Severity of the crime
- Age of the minor
- The minor's parents and their ability to manage the minor
- The minor's past record and social history
- The evidence of the case
